Why did you choose Amey?
I wanted to work for a company that could support my drive to continue learning. I also wanted the flexibility to explore different areas of the business.

What is the most satisfying aspect of your role?
Working on a project that will have direct benefits for the public is extremely satisfying. In large companies it can sometimes be difficult to make an impact, but that’s not the case at Amey.

How has your training/professional development matched your expectations?
My expectations have been exceeded already. I’ve been introduced to complex concepts very early in my career and learnt a lot about myself. My horizons are much broader as a result.

How has your training/professional development been tailored to your needs?
My training has not only focused on the skills I require today but also prepared me to be a successful leader in the future. We’re encouraged to think differently and consider alternative perspectives.

What kinds of projects have you worked on?
I began working on the QinetiQ account, where I helped organise a communications forum. As a member of the Mobilisation Team on the Home Office account, I helped prepare facilities services. I am currently working on a consulting and logistics project for BAA.

How does your work challenge you?
In a constantly evolving environment, it can be hard work to keep up to date, but it’s always interesting. With lots of different backgrounds in the team, you can never make assumptions about people, which is good as you have to think about your colleagues as individuals.

What are your goals over the next few years?
I want to capitalise on my training and climb up the career ladder. It’s important to continue to learn and to get industry-recognised qualifications that can open doors for me in the future. I’m especially keen to become Six Sigma certified. There are so many opportunities here and I don’t want to miss out on any of them.
My expectations have been exceeded already. I’ve been introduced to complex concepts very early in my career and learnt a lot about myself.
