Why did you choose Amey?
I worked for Amey during my year out after graduation. As I got to know people and how the business worked, I became interested in what sort of career Amey could offer me as a graduate.

What is the most satisfying aspect of your role?
Working with clients. They give us interesting problems to solve and it is rewarding to fulfil their expectations.

How has your training/professional development matched your expectations?
Everyone has been very helpful. I’ve been able to learn a great deal from my colleagues, both technically and how to go about things day to day.

How has your training/professional development been tailored to your needs?
I’ve developed an enthusiasm for quantity surveying through my assignments and it’s satisfying to know that I can pursue that interest with Amey and get professional qualifications with the company’s support.

What kinds of projects have you worked on?
My current assignment is for the Environment Agency, which involves pricing, valuations and maintaining sub-contractor accounts. I’m also organising the first ever Amey graduate conference.

How does your work challenge you?
We work in a fast-changing environment that creates time and task conflicts. I have to be highly organised yet also flexible in dealing with unexpected developments and deadlines.

What are your goals over the next few years?
I want to build a career as a quantity surveyor by getting qualified and broadening my work experience. I’d like to increase my exposure to other aspects of our business and gain a broader picture of Amey in general. I’d also like to work abroad at some point, which Ferrovial may be able to provide.
