What kinds of projects have you worked on?
I’ve enjoyed a variety of engineering challenges. One of the most interesting involved the repair of a stone arch bridge from 1823 that had suffered water penetration. I’ve also acted as an independent design checker for larger schemes, performing complex calculations to confirm structural integrity and stability.

How does your work challenge you?
Often schemes appear straightforward but turn out to be far more complex due to local environmental factors, so you have to keep an open mind. Structural analysis requires careful thinking to ensure that the right codes, assumptions and engineering principles are applied.

What are your goals over the next few years?
To qualify as a chartered engineer.
