Why did you choose Amey?
I was looking for a private sector employer with a conscience. I hadn’t heard of Amey, but once I knew about the company I started noticing them everywhere.

What is the most satisfying aspect of your role?
I’m working with a great team that has a direct impact on public services and therefore public wellbeing.

How has your training/professional development matched your expectations?
I wanted to gain broad exposure. Both my training and on the job experience have opened my eyes to the vast range of jobs that exist within Amey. I’ve already found several that interest me.

How has your training/professional development been tailored to your needs?
It’s been a natural progression. Personal development to begin with, moving on to teamwork and leadership skills.

What kinds of projects have you worked on?
I’ve been able to see many different sides of the business, from business strategy, bid development and financial reporting to procurement and technology projects.

How does your work challenge you?
Working on a number of projects at the same time means juggling competing demands. That requires flexibility, teamwork and the ability to prioritise.

What are your goals over the next few years?
To influence those around me, have work-life balance and continue to enjoy the challenges of my role.
I hadn’t heard of Amey, but once I knew about the company I started noticing them everywhere.
