BAA engaged Amey to bring a new perspective to its operational management and maintenance of passenger sensitive equipment at Heathrow and Gatwick. We were asked to undertake everything from programme management to providing skilled engineers and analytical support.
By questioning conventional practices and thinking differently about each aspect of the supply chain, we achieved immediate improvements in areas including operational processes, supplier management and the resourcing and performance of asset maintenance.
Our work has helped BAA get on track to meet its performance target of 99.5% availability, with improvements in availability and reliability of equipment already noticeable. As important, we’ve developed an environment of continuous improvement, leading to a better customer experience in the future.
