Northern Ireland electronic libraries project. Amey is working with the Northern Ireland library authority to create a state-of-the art library service.

Amey works in partnership with many local authorities to help transform the delivery of public services. We help our clients to make better use of their resources and achieve better ways of working to provide greater benefits to the public.

The goal of the Electronic Libraries for Northern Ireland Project is to deliver modern public library and information services to the people of Northern Ireland. Amey is the project’s technology solutions provider.

Over the course of the 10-year contract, we are building an online network to bring together all public libraries across Northern Ireland, supported by state-of-the art hardware and software.

This network will allow libraries to share information instantly with each other and the public, improving productivity and increasing customer satisfaction.

We’re also bringing greater innovation to service delivery through initiatives such as mobile vans containing satellite technology that take library services into the community.

It’s a complex undertaking that requires expertise in many areas, not just IT. By providing strategic, operational, financial and human resources skills as well, we’re doing everything we can to achieve a successful outcome.

Environment Agency framework contract. Amey helps the Environment Agency to protect the land for present and future generations.

The Environment Agency is responsible for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales. Amey is one of the many contractors it turns to for help in maintaining the land.

Our framework contract agreement entitles us to bid against other preferred suppliers for work. Price, methodology and credibility tend to be decisive factors, so you have to run a tight ship and have real know-how to be successful in this market.

A typical Environment Agency contract might be for the removal of debris and silt from watercourses. But work like this doesn’t just involve engineering expertise. It’s about good communication and project administration too.

By performing well in every area, we’re built a good working relationship with the Environment Agency that bodes well for the future. On each project we keep them informed of what we are doing every step of the way, so that everything is managed to their satisfaction and there are no surprises.

The Environment Agency depends on partners like Amey to fulfil its obligations. Together, we’re producing great results that provide long-term benefits for everyone.
