Our business has grown and evolved by accepting new challenges and pushing boundaries. Today we are the UK market leader in the support services field. Our business has always been resilient, surviving the Depression of the 1930s and prospering during the war years. We have also been pioneers in many fields, helping to build the UK’s first motorway and providing leadership in the use of PFI and PPP to deliver modern public services.

Our strategic focus on support services began in 1997. In the years that followed, we increased our competitive strength through the acquisition of companies such as Comax, the secure support services specialist, and Owen Williams, the Birmingham-based consultancy.

Our current business model was shaped by two key events. Challenging conditions at the start of this century led us to consolidate and focus on our core activities. Our acquisition by Ferrovial Group in 2003 gave us the financial platform to plan for the future with the greatest confidence.
