Amey is actively harnessing the skills and talents of ex-service people. 20,000 people leave military roles every year with a formidable range of skills. Across our business, ex-service people are helping us to create better places to live, work and travel.

Our commitment to our ex-service colleagues

We are committed to being an exemplary employer of ex-service people. This is because we understand not only the benefits and value that this pool of talent can bring, but also that this has been overlooked for too long by too many businesses. Thankfully things are changing – for example through the success of The Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Hundreds of businesses - including Amey - have signed the Covenant, committing us to helping ex-service people secure careers for the future.

Putting our commitment into practice 

Signing the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant means not only publicly stating our intention to support the employment of ex-service men and women, but making it happen in our daily operations. We have strong working relationships with ex-service recruitment specialists Civvy Street and the Career Transition Partnership (CTP). More than 5% of Amey’s workforce has been hired through our recruitment programme targeted at ex-service personnel.
