Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award

As part of the Amey Apprenticeship Programme, we’ll give you the chance to work towards the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award (DofE).

This prestigious award gives you learning opportunities to develop life-skills closely linked to Amey’s own values. These include:

  • Resilience
  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Problem-solving
  • Planning and prioritising

We actively encourage all eligible apprentices to enrol and we’ll give you full support to achieve the award.

The Amey DofE Gold Award has five modules which will challenge you, enable you to give back to your community, improve your fitness and teach you skills to help you progress in your career at Amey. They are:

  1. Residential
  2. Expedition
  3. Volunteering
  4. Physical module
  5. Business skills

You will complete your Residential, Expedition and Business Skills modules alongside other Amey apprentices from across the business. Our apprentices tell us achieving the Award has increased their confidence and changed their life.

“The DofE completely changed my life – it increased my confidence so much that I started studying towards a degree at University. It also completely changed my lifestyle. Physical activity is a huge part of my life now, last summer I took part in the Three Peaks Challenge - something I never would have done if it wasn’t for the DofE.”

Rose Dawson – DofE Gold Award Holder

The DofE Gold Business Award is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with potentially life-changing consequences and we fully encourage you to accept this challenge!
