Network Rail Partnership Awards 2015 – triple winners - Heritage Award, Investing in People Award and Driving Efficiencies Award

Network Rail recognised Amey’s rail team at their 2015 Partnership Awards naming us the winner of the Heritage Award. This was awarded for our Consulting work on the historic Chorley ‘Flying Arches’ refurbishment as part of the National Electrification Framework.

Our team had researched historical building techniques and consulted with key stakeholders such as English Heritage to ensure that the Principal Contractor, Murphys, could protect the grade-II listed structure during works on the National Electrification Framework.

Our Great Western Electrification programme (GWEP) team won the Investing in People Award – in recognition of our programme to provide opportunities to ex-service personnel, our efforts to encourage diversity within our workplace and the establishment of an industry-leading international graduate programme.

The GWEP team also won the Driving Efficiencies Award, with the judges commenting on how impressive our work on Lean efficiencies had helped save around £9million on the contract.

Andy Milner, CEO, said: “This is a significant time for the Rail Industry and these awards – and the projects and teams they recognise- are a great showcase to our customers of the world-class service that Amey can offer across the UK. They are also a clear demonstration of our own core values and objectives in action. My sincere thanks and congratulations to all involved.”

Lee Jones, Director of Rail and Metro Operations, added: “I am very proud to be part of such a successful team and I am so pleased our hard work is now being appropriately recognised by our immediate customers, their end users and externally.”
