Although you may not be aware of Amey, you will come into contact with our diverse workforce and services on a regular basis. We inspect and assess the state of the nation’s railways, repair, and enhance key areas of the UK’s road and rail network and maintain key public buildings and spaces such as airports, schools, parks and offices.  We employ around 11,000 people across 200 locations in the UK and have a proven track record in delivering outstanding stand-alone services, as well as pioneering a leading integrated service model.

Amey recognise the importance of young people within the workforce of today and tomorrow. Our Amey Apprenticeship Academy can offer you excellent career opportunities in a successful and growing organisation, and in a wide range of specialist areas, so you can make the most of your particular skills and interests. Our programmes start in September 2011 and run for up to 2 years depending on the level you join at.

By joining the scheme, you will embark on a journey that will give you excellent opportunities within your chosen discipline. Our apprentices of today will become our technical experts and managers of the future so you’ll be well-prepared for a long and diverse career here at Amey. The scheme offers enhanced skills development, on-the-job continuous learning, and support towards further academic qualifications, participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Business Scheme (Gold Award), and an opportunity to be part of the wider Amey Apprentice community.

Amey are committed to ensuring you are supported and developed throughout this programme.  Each apprentice will be partnered with a mentor and your line manager is also dedicated to working with you to fulfil your potential and will have regular catch-up’s to ensure everything is going to plan.

Amey is recruiting for apprentices in the following areas: Scotland, Cumbria, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Hertfordshire, Hampshire, Swindon, London, Plymouth and Herefordshire.

Disciplines covered include: Civil & structural engineering, highways, rail, street lighting, CAD technicians, plumbers, electricians and many more.

Our Apprenticeship Programmes include:

Trainees
Trainees The programme is designed to develop trade qualifications [S/NVQ level 2] combined with life skills.

Entry Requirement: A minimum of 2 GSCEs grade C and above.
Apprentices
Apprentices Provides an Opportunity to gain a recognised qualification [S/NVQ level 3] including the development of business skills for further progression.

Entry Requirement: A minimum 4 GCSE’s A-C including English, Maths, and a Science.
Technicians
Technicians Aim to provide: Young People with the required academic qualifications and work experience to progress to professional standards.

Entry Requirement: A minimum 4 GCSE’s A-C including English, Maths, and a Science.
