We acquired the Owen Williams Group in 2006, reinforcing Amey’s capabilities to deliver end-to-end service contracts. During 2008, Owen Williams became part of our Consulting division and the name Owen Williams is no longer used.
Amey now has more than 1,000 employees who apply environmental, asset management, intelligent transport and regeneration expertise to design sustainable solutions that improve efficiency and safety and save money.
With a presence throughout the UK and Ireland, our consulting division brings leading edge design services to Amey’s management and maintenance contracts with the Highways Agency, Scottish Executive and Bedfordshire County Council. Owen Williams works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Roads Service, Herefordshire, West Sussex and Surrey Councils, supporting them in the delivery of highways, property and regeneration programmes.
By linking design to construction, installation and commissioning skills within a single package our Consulting division is helping the rail industry to meet challenges for the 21st century. Expertise in signalling, permanent way, electrification and power and structures design is being used to develop new design proposals with higher levels of safety, reliability, availability, maintainability and operational efficiency.
As a product independent integrator of technology systems our Consulting division is helping to make journeys on road and rail networks easier for the travelling public by providing real time information, security and asset condition data to those who need it.
