
Wayne Robertson is Head of Legal for the Amey Group and Company Secretary to Amey UK plc and Amey plc. He joined Amey in 2006 as Senior Counsel, Business Services. Wayne is responsible for managing the legal, group secretariat and contract services functions and is a member of the Amey Management Committee.
Wayne qualified as a corporate lawyer at DJ Freeman in London in 1996 and spent three years in the firm’s Media and Communications department dealing with a wide range of corporate matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and stock exchange listings, primarily for telecommunications, media, IT and publishing clients.
In 1999, Wayne joined British Telecommunications plc where he worked on a number of major corporate and commercial projects including the Airwave PPP project with the Home Office for the provision of a national TETRA radio and data network for the police and other emergency services and the outsourcing by BT of its HR and Development Services division to a joint venture with Accenture. He joined the joint venture as its first in-house counsel and, following the acquisition by Accenture of BT’s interest in the company, assumed the role of Vice President, Legal, at Accenture HR Services. He joined the UK Executive Committee and became Chairman of the Health and Safety Committee in 2003.
After leaving Accenture, Wayne worked as a consultant on projects at BT, in its satellite broadcasting division, and at The BOC Group plc, including the outsourcing of various manufacturing activities to India.
During his time at Amey, Wayne has negotiated and advised on a number of successful PFI and non-PFI projects, including major service contracts with Transport for London and the Home Office.
Wayne is responsible for Amey's legal and secretariat team which negotiates and advises on major contracts including PFI/PPP projects, acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, litigation, corporate and finance matters and the contract services team, which handles the placing of supplier contracts and records management for the Group.
Wayne holds an Honours degree in Law from the University of Durham.
