Gillian Duggan joined Amey in 2004 as Group Human Resources Director having worked extensively in both the public and private sector. Gillian is leading a team of HR professionals to develop Amey as an Employer of Choice.
Gillian began her career at the former Benefits Agency in a variety of front line and functional roles. She was headhunted to Technicolor Home Entertainment Services in 1998 and led a Training and Organisational Development function for the FMCG division of Carlton Communications.
She was promoted into Human Resources at Technicolor (UK). As Head of HR she integrated three acquired businesses into the UK group, handling TUPE transfer issues and implementing a radical restructuring program which included consolidation of UK operations.
In 2002 Gillian was appointed HR Director EMEA at a subsidiary company of the Danaher Corporation, leader in the diversified industrial sector.
Since joining Amey as Group HR Director in 2004, she has been instrumental in re-engineering the HR function. Her combined experience from the public and private sector has enabled her to develop an HR strategy that meets business needs and is closely aligned with the customer and their expectations.
She has developed an HR strategy to position Amey as an employer of choice, focusing on internal training capability, management and graduate development and the talent tracker programme. She has also displayed a real passion for driving the diversity agenda through Amey.
She is responsible for all executive level recruitment and compensation issues and led the HR due diligence and management integration of the £40 million Owen Williams consultancy following its 2006 acquisition.
Gillian also works closely with Amey’s parent company Ferrovial, supporting the introduction of initiatives including the Corporate University and management programmes.
During her spare time Gillian thoroughly enjoys keeping fit, running, body pump and yoga.
