David Lloyd, Chief Information Officer

David Lloyd is the Chief Information Officer at Amey and sits on the company’s Executive Committee. Responsible for all IT infrastructure, applications and data across the organisation, David is implementing a new IT strategy that will enhance the use of information across the Amey Organisation. This will improve the collaboration between employees, and the asset management processes.

Graduating as a Chemical Engineer at Leeds University, David started his career in the dairy and brewing industry working in various Production and Logistics roles for Unigate, Courage, and Grand Met Brewing.

In 1996, David moved to Xansa plc, initially as a Project and Programme Manager, where he worked with major Blue Chip logistics companies such as Guinness UDV, Bank of Scotland, General Electric, Firestone and GKN. He later became their CIO and was responsible for developing and delivering the IT strategy for both the internal and external infrastructure.

After leaving Xansa, David joined Symbian Software Ltd (now part of Nokia) as their Chief Information Officer and led the IS team in delivering key IT projects to improve business operations. He quickly progressed to Nokia’s IT Director, where he completed the integration and transition of all IT services from Symbian to the Nokia organisation in 2009.

Outside of work, David enjoys Cycling and Swimming and competes in triathlons. He also loves watching his sons play rugby, cricket and football.
